 Grand Theft Auto (GTA usually brief) is a video game series created by David Jones and Mike Daily  later by brothers Dan Houser and Sam, and game designer Zachary Clark. Developed primarily by Northern Rock (formerly DMA Design) and published by Rockstar Games. The name comes from the Grand Theft Auto series, a term that refers to the car theft. He has won numerous awards series.

 Started a video game developer DMA Design this series in 1997, and currently has ten independent games and four expansion packs. The title of schedule III, Grand Theft Auto III, acclaimed widely, because it brought to the preparation of a series 3D and experience more immersive, and is the title historical influenced later many of the actions open world games and led named "Grand Theft Auto clone" on similar games .   The second game in the series, Grand Theft Auto 2, was developed for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation, and Dreamcast and released in 1999. GTA Grand Theft Auto 2 does not give the time when the game is done and only the address described by any, game featured updated graphics and somewhat different gameplay based on player appeal to various criminal organizations. Grand Theft Auto 2 takes place in a retro-futuristic setting, in an American city that is not mentioned by name.

Each Universe is considered separately, the only brand and Background characters are shared among them. While Rockstar has not confirmed why did they decide to do that.

 

 

 

 The use of vehicles in an explorable city provides basic simulation of a working city, complete with pedestrians who generally obey traffic signals. Further details are used to flesh out the open atmosphere that has been used in several other games, such as The Simpsons Hit & Run, which has less emphasis on crime or violence. Each game in the series allows players to take the role of a criminal or wannabe in a big city, typically an individual who rose through the ranks of organized crime through the course of the game. The player is given various missions by kingpins and major idols in the city underworld which must be completed to progress through the story. Murder and other crimes have often, but occasionally taxi driving, firefighting, street racing, bus driving, or learning to fly helicopters and fixed wing aircraft are also involved. 

In later titles, notably those released after Grand Theft Auto 2, the player is given a more developed storyline in which he had to overcome an unfortunate event (eg, being betrayed and left for dead), which serves as motivation for the character to advance the criminal ladder and ultimately leads to the success of the character by the end of the story. Grand Theft Auto series belongs to the genre of free roaming video games called sandbox games, and provide a large amount of freedom to the player. Traditional action games are structured as a single track series of levels with linear game, but in GTA the player can determine the missions that he wants to run, and his relationship with various characters changed based on these choices. Influenced by early game Turbo Esprit,  city game can roam freely at any point in the game, and are examples of open world video game environments which offer accessible buildings with minor missions in addition to the main storyline. There are exceptions: missions follow a linear plot, comprehensive, and some city areas must be unlocked during the game
